Satellite connectivity in Africa

With advent of information technology high speed internet service gained tremendous fame in recent times. Satellite connectivity in Africa at this particular moment provides super fast internet services with the aid of satellite services. Unlike conventional dial up network satellite services don’t uses simple telephone line to that of cable systems. In other word it uses satellite dish for both way transfers of data. Normally it is faster than that of a simple dial up connection and it has provision of both way satellite dishes. Other than dishes it basically have two types of modem one is known as uplink modem and another is that of downlink modem. Both of these modems are connected with the aid of a coaxial cable.

This whole system of satellite connectivity in Africa requires favorable climatic condition in whole of Africa. Other than this it uses IP multicasting technology which basically means one satellite serving more than five thousands routes of communication at a quick instance. In one word it sends information from one dish to various other accessing points all round the continent. The advantage of using this kind of satellite connectivity means one can access high speed internet service even in a remote area round the continent. In other word it is cost effective and affordable by nature. As stated earlier its speed of connectivity is higher than any other forms of internet services. Last but not the least one can upload or download dozens of files within a split second of time.

Unlike satellite internet services Ku band in Africa gained tremendous eminence in recent times. It is basically kind of an electromagnetic spectrum or microwave rays more often used for satellite internet connection. It is more often used to increase the power of both uplink and downlink at the same time. Introduction of Ku band in African region decreased the diameter of the satellite dish. Ku band is more powerful than that of a c band and its recent introduction in satellite internet connectivity led to smooth transfer of file within a quick period of time. Ku band in general is used in Direct Broadcast satellite. The frequency of this kind of band ranges normally around twelve gigahertz. K band is flexible, and uses smaller dishes than that of a c band. In general length of the dishes increased by quite a significant diameter which helps to transmit signal at a lightning speed.
